In the 1st quarter of 2024, Germany produced 5.7 million m³ of softwood sawn timber and planed timber. Production was last at a similarly low level in 2019. Compared to the same period last year, the production of softwood sawn timber fell by 7%.
Compared to the 4th quarter of 2023, softwood sawn timber production increased by 6%. The increase from the 4th quarter of 2022 to the 1st quarter of the previous year was 9% in comparison.
