According to the Federal Statistical Office Destatis, 187,000 m³ of oak and beech lumber were produced in Germany in the fourth quarter of 2023. Compared to the third quarter, output increased slightly by 2%. Year on year, on the other hand, an 8% decrease was recorded.
In the full year 2023, production output totaled 850,000 m³, as Destatis reports. Compared to 2022, oak and beech lumber production was down by 125,000 m³ or 13%. Compared to 2021, when 1.04 million m³ were produced, an even bigger decrease of 18% or 191,000 m³ was recorded.
