German sawmill industry with a 24% increase in sales

Article by Raphael Kerschbaumer (translated by Eva Guzely) | 18.03.2024 - 16:47

As you can see in our interactive Datacube chart, the new year always starts with an upswing in sales following a marked dent in December. In January 2024, the German sawmill industry generated €446.3 million in sales, i.e. 24% more than in the previous month.

However, due to the relatively low level of December 2023, the industry was not able to reach the figures of January of the previous two years (2023: €564,07 million; 2022: €648.42 million) – despite a marked increase.

When you look at the years before the current period, which is marked by sharp price increases, the month of January 2024 is a comparatively good one. In January 2021, for example, sales generated by German sawmills were 4% lower than this year.
