Hardwood lumber production on decline

Germany produced 480,000 m³ of hardwood lumber (beech and oak) in the first half of the year, according to data from the Federal Statistical Office. Compared to the same period last year, this represents a decline of 11% or 60,000 m³. Compared to the first six months of 2021, the decline is 75,000 m³ or 13.5%.

In the 2nd quarter, sawn timber production of oak and beech in Germany amounted to 235,000 m³. In the same period of the previous year, the figure was 279,000 m³. This corresponds to a decrease of almost 16%.
