The sawmill’s planned production capacity is said to be 350 million board feet a year. According to Canfor, work on detailed project engineering and permitting requirements will start immediately. The selection of suppliers and sawmill equipment should be finalized in early 2024. The group expects that the planning, construction, and commissioning of the new production site will take 28 to 32 months depending on the availability of contractors and equipment lead times.
