Finnish softwood lumber exports to Egypt totaled 501,000 m³ in the first six months, and were thus up by 9% compared to the same period of last year (2022: 458,000 m³). From January to May, Finland had still exported a much smaller volume to its main customer (370,000 m³; -12%). Great Britain (384,000 m³; -1%) and Estonia (327,000 m³; +15%) complete the Top 3 export markets for Finnish softwood lumber and are followed by China (309,000 m³; +5%).
Lumber shipments to Germany fell by 15% in the first half-year to 253,000 m³, while those to Japan decreased by 34% to 298,000 m³. Saudi Arabia received 217,000 m³, which corresponds to a decrease of 17% or 44,000 m³ year on year.
