Slightly less lumber, more pellets

According to Rosstat, 14.71 million m³ of lumber were produced in Russia in the first half of 2022, i.e. 1.8% less than in the first six months of last year. From January to June 2021, the production output of Russian sawmills had totaled 14.98 million m³ of lumber.

As for softwood lumber, Rosstat reports a production volume of 13.5 million m³ in the first half-year, down by 3.1% compared to the same period of last year (H1 2021: 13.9 million m³).

From January to June, 1.091 million t of wood pellets were produced in Russia, which corresponds to a year-on-year increase of 2.6% (H1 2021: 1.064 million t).
