According to Madison’s Lumber Reporter, 2-by-4 (Western SPF, KD, #2 & better) only cost US-$985/1,000 bft on May 20, which is a 16% decrease week on week. With a slightly stronger euro (US-$1.06/€), European exporters only earned around €600/m³, i.e. €127/m³ less than in the week before and even €270/m³ less than in the same week of last year.
A look at the Lumber Futures which are traded at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange shows that the July Futures are at US-$609/1,000 bft. Assuming that the currency exchange remains at the current level, European suppliers would make around €372/m³ (-38%).
