Canadian group to curtail production

Canfor of Vancouver plans to curtail production in its Canadian sawmills by 115 million bft (around 270,000 m³, or 185,000 m³ on a 2-by-4 basis) in the third quarter. Canfor gives considerable supply chain challenges and transportation backlogs in Western Canada due to the extreme wildfire conditions as reasons for the decision.

“We are currently developing site specific plans to minimize the impacts to our employees and contractors,” said Stephen Mackie, Executive Vice President of North American Operations at Canfor.
