The softwood sawmill with the new name Bois et Sciages Barbe is located in the Occitanie region in the Pyrenees and the fifth production site operated by the Monnet-Sève Group in addition to its sites in Outriaz, St. Vulbas, Sougy sur Loire and Maîche. The annual cutting of all five sawmills totals 1 million m³ of log wood. The new production site also has a pellet plant with a capacity of 40,000 tons a year.
The strategy of the family company Monnet-Sève, which was founded in 1929, has always been to produce as close as possible to forests. With the sawmill in St. Paul de Jarrat, the company wants to expand the range of services for carpentry companies to include drying and planing as well.
The group’s annual drying capacity is 200,000 m³. In Outriaz and Sougy, Monnet-Sève operates two planing mills with a total capacity of 150,000 m³ a year. In addition, the company has two laminated timber production sites in Sougy and Rumilly with 50,000 m³ a year.
