Madison’s Lumber Reporter puts the price of 2-by-4 SPF (KD) #2&better at $ 1040/1000 bft. This is still the highest value ever reached. In the past five weeks, the price has remained unchanged. However, thanks to a weaker euro, European suppliers are seeing an increase in value which has reached € 570/m³ and thus a new record high. Earnings free German sawmill are said to be around € 520/m³ with arrival at US East Coast.

Chicago Mercantile Exchange’s lumber futures for May have recovered and are now above $ 1000/1000 bft. After a sharp decline a few weeks ago, these signals also indicate a stable development of business until May.
