Lumber exports fell by 23%

In January, Russia exported 1.6 million m³ of softwood lumber and planed timber, which corresponds to a 23% decrease compared to the same period of last year. Shipments to main customer China fell by 27% to 932,000 m³, those to Uzbekistan were down by 43%, reaching a total of 93,000 m³.

Russia also saw double-digit decreases in softwood lumber exports to Japan (-43%; 56,000 m³) and Azerbaijan (-14%; 56,000 m³), while increases were recorded in Finland (+13%; 57,000 m³) and Estonia (+33%; 55,000 m³).
