Russian softwood lumber exports (incl. planed timber) amounted to 28.27 million m³ in the months from January to November 2020. Year on year, they saw a 2% decrease, as data published by the Russian customs authorities show. Exports to China fell by 10% to 16 million m³. Double-digit decreases were also recorded in shipments to Egypt (879,000 m³; -18%) and Japan (791,000 m³; -11%).
Shipments to Uzbekistan, on the other hand, rose by 13% to nearly 2.5 million m³. Softwood lumber exports to Kazakhstan more than doubled (+121%), reaching a total of 1.15 million m³ in the first eleven months.
