US price stabilizes on a new level

Last week, the 2-by-4 price (Western SPF, KD, #2 & better) barely changed in the US. However, an increase of $ 6/1000 bft indicates that the sawn timber price is stabilizing, after having fallen by nearly $ 400/1000 bft in ten weeks.

According to Madison’s Lumber Reporter, 2-by-4 cost $ 596/1000 bft last week, which is around € 323/m³ (actual size). Compared to the previous week, the price rose by € 2/m³. Year on year, it saw an increase of € 70/m³. However, the price is still € 110/m³ away from the record level reached in September.
