Stable beech sawn timber exports

In 2019, a total of around 526,700 m³ of beech sawn timber were exported which corresponds to a slight decrease of 1% compared to 2018 (532,600 m³).

With 152,000 m³, China is the biggest buyer of German beech sawn timber (2018: 152,000 m³). The US follows in second place with 65,800 m³ (-8%). Exports to Poland rose by 1% to 44,200 m³.

Destatis records double-digit increases in German beech sawn timber exports to India (20,700 m³; +26%), Vietnam (19,700 m³; +25%) and the United Arab Emirates (12,500 m³; +24%).
