In 2019, Interfor recorded a net loss of CAD 103.8 million (€ 71 million) compared to net earnings of CAD 111.1 million (€ 76 million). Adjusted EBITDA was CAD 63.4 million (€ 43.4 million) with sales of CAD 1.9 billion (€ 1.28 billion). Compared to 2018 (CAD 2.19 billion), sales fell by CAD 310.3 million (€ 212.8 million). In 2018, EBITDA was CAD 291.6 million (€ 199.7 million).

In the fourth quarter, Interfor’s net loss amounted to CAD 41.7 million (€ 28.5 million). Adjusted EBITDA was CAD 17.6 million (€ 12 million) with sales of CAD 456.8 million (€ 312.7 million).

In 2019, Interfor produced a total of 2646 million board feet of sawn timber (nominal around 6.24 million m³; converted into European production output, this corresponds to 4.25 million m³ on a 2-by-4 basis). In 2018, the group’s total production was 2635 million bft (nominal 6.22 million m³; 4.23 million m³ on a 2-by-4 basis).

In September 2019, Interfor had announced plans for a restructuring of the production sites in British Columbia, including the closure of the Hammond sawmill in Maple Ridge as well as the reorganization of forestry companies. In October 2019, sawn timber production was ceased in Hammond.
