Russia exported more sawn timber

According to Russian customs authorities, Russia exported a total of 28.78 million m³ of softwood sawn timber (including planed timber) in the period January to November 2019. Compared to the previous year, this corresponds to an increase of 4%. However, of the Top 10 foreign markets, there was a rise in exports to only three of them. Russia sold 17.75 million m³, i.e. 11% more, to China. Japan (889,000 m³; +13%) and Germany (502,000 m³; +4%) also received more softwood sawn timber from Russia.

There was a decrease in exports to Uzbekistan (2.22 million m³; -8%) and Egypt (1.08 million m³; -5%), for example.
