Stable softwood lumber exports

In the first five months, Sweden exported the same volume of softwood lumber including planed goods as in the same period of the previous year. Concerning the individual destinations, however, different developments were registered.

According to Statistics of Sweden, 5.47 million m³ of softwood lumber incl. planed goods were exported between January and May which exactly matches last year's value. Deliveries to Great Britain gained 2% to 1.14 million m³. Considerable growth rates were observed to Egypt (+65% to 595,000 m³) as well as Norway (+12% to 405,000 m³).

Exports of Swedish softwood lumber declined to Netherlands (384,000 m³; -15%), Denmark (354,000 m³; -5%), Germany (313,000 m³; -16%) and China (312,000 m³; -15%).
