Between January and May, Russia exported a total of 12.8 million m³ of softwood lumber, Russian custom authorities report. This is an increase by 8%. Second largest customer after China is Uzbekistan with 920,000 m³ (-14%). Egypt purchased more than last year: Almost 500,000 m³ in five months is almost 24% more than in 2018. Another country that increased Russian imports was Japan: +14% to 435,000 m³.
