Between 17 and 26 July, production will be reduced for two weeks. In Houston and Plateau, production cuts are going to last for four weeks and in Mackenzie for six weeks.

According to a press release issued by Canfor, the reason is, as in previous cases, the unfavorable situation on the sawn timber market and high raw material prices as well as the resulting uneconomic production conditions in British Columbia.

After the closure of the sawmill in Vavenby, Canfor will operate twelve sawmills with an annual capacity of 3.55 billion bft (8.4 million m³/year) in Canada.
