With 2.2 million m³ in two months, Russian exporters exceeded last year's interim result by 17%. Finland – number 3 amongst China's suppliers – exported a third less than last year still: 180,000 m3/yr (-29%).

Canadian exporters reallocated volumes from the US market to China. While January exports to the US were 10% lower, exports to China gained 66% to more than 900,000 m³.

A rather mixed start into the year saw European export nations: With 120,000 m³, Ukraine managed to boost exports to China by 210% and therefore also more than Swedish companies (81,000 m³; -39%). Germany almost doubled deliveries to China: 60,000 m3/yr (+93%).

In total, China imported almost 3.9 million m³. Compared to last year, this is an increase by 16% as data by Customs Statistics China indicate.
