In general, sawn timber prices are growing at a slower rate on the US market. Nonetheless, 2-by-4 has seen an enormous increase compared to the previous week.

According to Random Lengths, prices made a jump of 33 US-$ to 465 US-$/1000 bft (free Great Lakes region). With a slightly weaker euro, this corresponds to an increase of 21,6 €/m³ compared to the previous week. Datacube data shows that it is also the highest weekly gain since week 20 of last year.

The current price level still remains below that of last year by 52 €/m³. By now, however, proceeds should again be above 200 €/m³ free German sawmill.
