Exports to Japan declined by 32% (-87,000 m³). While the East Asian country had still been Austria's third most important trade partner during the same period last year, Slovenia took over this role in 2018. Exports to the southern neighbor increased by 55% (+136,000 m³) and amounted to 383,000 m³

While Italy (+2%; +34,000; 1.61 m. m³) and Germany (+6%; +36,000 m³; 598,000 m³) ranked as numbers one and two, deliveries to the US also saw strong increases despite the volatile lumber price (+320%; +72,000; 94,000 m³).

Declines were also reported for exports to Croatia (-5%; -5,000 m³; 112,000 m³) and Czech Republic (-13%; -11,000 m³; 76,000 m³).
