US sawn timber price loses another 7 euros

Random Lengths’ mean value of construction timber, an indicator of the US sawn timber market, has been falling for five weeks in a row.

Last week, the 2-by-4 price free Great Lakes fell by a marked 16 US-$ to “only” 660 US-$/1000 bft.

Lately, the exchange rate was about 1,17 US-$/€. The actual price for 2-by-4 thus was 364,4 €/m³ which equals a 7 €/m³-decrease compared to the previous week, but a 88 €/m³-increase compared to last year.
