As a first step, Binderholz will increase the drying capacity in Baruth from 600,000 to 760,000 m³/yr. The project completion is scheduled for December. An additional lumber re-sorting that is operating in a three-shift operation with an output of 450,000 m³/yr will be launched in 2019.
The main investment according to Binderholz is a new saw line that will boost the cutting capacity at the factory in Brandenburg to 2.2 million sm³/yr. With this, the total volume will almost double. In a survey by Timber-Online (s. Chart Sawmill Industry Germany), Binderholz announced a target volume of 1.35 million sm³ for 2018. The launch will take place in 2020. The line is designed for roundwood between 2.5 and 5 m long and with a diameter of 10 cm or more.

With the launch of the new saw line, the drying capacity will be re-adjusted to the production capacity of annually more than 1 million m³ lumber

The Binderholz headcount at twelve locations in Austria, Germany, and Finland amounts to about 2530 employees. The range of products comprises lumber and profiled timber, single- and multi-layer glued solid wood panels, glulam, and cross-laminated timber and even pressboard blocks and pallets as well as pellets.
