New high for US prices

A seasonally induced demand increase in building products causes US prices for softwood lumber to continue their climb - such is the analysis by Random Lengths.

With a gain of US-$ 10/1000 bft, the price for 2-by-4 reached its annual peak of US-$ 630/1000 bft (free Great Lakes region).

European exporters saw a new price peak, as well: €332/m³. This is €41/m³ more than last year, and a weekly increase of €+7/m³. Ex German factory, the price level supposedly ranges around €280/m³.
