Random lengths has nothing but superlatives for the start of the year on the US market. Despite the bad weather, demand exceeded all expectations.

After weeks of decline, the price for 2-by-4 gained US-$ 21/1000 bft reaching a level of US-$ 557/1000 bft (free Great Lakes region) last week. This practically equals the 10 year price peak which was last reached in November 2017.

In spite of the weakening of the US dollar to only US-$ 1.22/€, revenues for European exporters saw an increase of € 6.4/m³ to € 294.8/m³.
