Roundwood loggings of Austrian sawmills with more than 50,000 sm³/yr increased by 5% compared to the previous year totaling 11.8 million sm³. In 2018, the logging volume is even expected to rise above 12 million sm³ (+2.5%), as the Timber-Online survey indicates. Including those companies that did not disclose any business figures in the Timber-Online survey, the annual cutting volume of the large Austrian sawmills reached around 13.5 million sm³
It is noteworthy that almost all companies reported at least constant if not rising cutting volumes for 2017. In total, five sawmills together projected loggings of 1 million sm³ for 2018. Binderholz, Hasslacher Norica Timber, Holzindustrie Maresch, Mayr-Melnhof Holz Holding and Stora Enso at its Ybbs site.
