Forest products company Canfor, Vancouver/CA, is upgrading its Grande Prairie-sawmill in Alberta: A capital investment of Can-$ 15 million is spent in new scanning and control technology as well as equipment, modifications, dailyheraldtribune.com reports. The investment is geared towards a better balance of production levels between the sawmill and planer and increase the overall efficiency of the mill., a company speaker says.
Since 2010, Canfor has spent more than Can-$ 850 million in its operations in Quebec/CA, Alberta/CA, and North and South Carolina/US as well as Alabama/US, in order to modernize its pulp and solid wood manufacturing facilities there.
