According to Creditsafe, the insolvency rate in the forestry sector was only 0.53% which is below the average value for the whole of Germany. The wood processing industry, on the other hand, has a rate of 1.14%.

Compared to the national average, the debt ratio of the wood sector is slightly lower with 13.5% of companies reporting a negative equity. The cross-sector comparison amounts to 14%. Over-indebtedness of the companies is one of the most common reasons for an insolvency.

As for the forestry and wood industry, the businesses were more punctual with their payments than other sectors (5.1 days) and settled payment claims around 4.6 days too late on average.
