Brexit's uncertain outcome is also impacting the British construction sector. In February, the business barometer assessed by the IHS Markit lost 1.1 points to a total of 49.5. This is the first time since March 2018 that the value dropped below the 50 points mark which is the minimum indicator for growth. According to Markit economist Tm Moore, the fear of Brexit has increased - a lot of customers are postponing investment measures.
In 2018, the British construction sector gained 0.7% which is the smallest growth rate since 2012.
