From January to October, China imported 555,000 m³ of beech logs. Compared to the 562,000 m³ purchased in the same period of 2024, this represents a decrease of 1%.

In the first ten months, beech log imports from main supplier Germany totaled 241,300 m³ and were thus 9% lower than last year (2024: 265,000 m³). Beech log imports from Germany last reached a similarly low level in 2020 (241,600 m³).

Chinese imports from France decreased by 19% year on year to 93,400 m³. Slovakia ranks third among the most important supplier countries and saw its deliveries skyrocket by 144%, from 25,100 m³ in the first ten months of 2024 to 61,100 m³ this year.

Denmark (45,500 m³; +5%), Belgium (38,200 m³; -10%), the Czech Republic (27,000 m³; +71%), and Sweden (15,800 m³; +56%) follow in the ranking.
