Over 77 million hectares reforested

From 2012 to 2024, a total of 77.3 million hectares of land were reforested in China. In 2024 alone, around 4.5 million hectares were added. By now, approximately 47 million reforested hectares are available for harvest.

As a result of those extensive measures, the share of forested areas has reached 25% – compared to 21% in 2015. According to the National Afforestation Commission of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, timber stocks in Chinese forests total more than 20 billion m³ thanks to the reforestation measures.
