“Our mission is focused on members’ forests, not to actually own forests. We have therefore initiated a divestment of the forest holding in the Baltics,” Peter Karlsson, President of the Södra Skog business area, said. The company states that it wants to find the right buyer but is not in any hurry.

Södra is owned by around 52,000 members, most of whom are forest owners in southern Sweden. The group owns 153,000 hectares of land in Estonia and Latvia, the majority of which is located in Latvia.
