Logging reduced in Slovakia

Last year, 7.2 million m³ of log wood were harvested in Slovakia. Compared to 2022, the logging volume decreased by around half a million cubic meters. In total, 61% of the regrown wood was harvested.

According to a media report, which cites the Slovakian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as source, softwood logs accounted for 53% of the harvested wood. 3.5 million m³ were damaged wood. 85% of the beetle-damaged trees felled were softwood trees.
