In February, the log price index was at 156.93% in Austria (base: January 2001 = 100%). This is according to the Austrian Timber Industry Association. The index is thus approaching the record value of 158% which was recorded in September 2021. Compared to January, the log price index rose by 3.73 percentage points. Year on year, it saw an increase of 40.19 points.
The lumber price index rose by 3.59 percentage points in February to 195.86%. Compared to February 2021, it was up by 60.34 percentage points. The all-time high, that is 250.18%, was reached in August 2021.
