Germany’s softwood log exports amounted to nearly 1.3 million m³ in January and February. According to preliminary data provided by Destatis, this corresponds to a 59% year-on-year increase.
Softwood log exports to China nearly tripled: 695,000 m³; +217%. The country received an enormous 350,000 m³ every month.
Sales in Austria, on the other hand, fell by 15% to 209,000 m³. Belgium also bought less from Germany (128,000 m³; -13%). A marked relative increase was recorded in exports to South Korea (43,000 m³; +286%) and Sweden (33,000 m³; +76%).
