In January 2020, the log price index reached 107.3% (January 2001 = 100%). Compared to December 2019, this is an increase of 5.1 percentage points. Since September 2019 (95.6%), the Austrian log price index has seen a constant increase after months of decreases. This is according to the Austrian timber industry association. In January 2019, the index was at 113.6%.
The sawn timber price index also recorded a slight increase of 2.3 points compared to the previous month and reached 113.6% in January 2020. A year ago, the association reported a value of 126.6%.
