Less log wood harvested

According to the Natural Resource Institute Finland (Luke), 2.1 million m³ of logs harvested were used by the sawmill industry, while around 2.3 million m³ were processed by the pulp industry. 3.7 million m³ were harvested in private forests and 0.8 million m³ in state-owned forests.

In December alone, 262,000 m³ of harvested wood were used for energy generation. In the full year, 4.3 million m³ were used for this purpose.

In 2019, the preliminary volume of log wood waste in Finland amounts to 62.8 million m³.
