BaySF expect 600.000 m³ of storm-damaged wood

In the Bavarian state forests (BaySF), damage caused by storm “Ciara” is localized mainly in the south west and the south of the Bavarian forest.

BaySF spokesman Jan-Paul Schmidt does not expect significant repercussions for the timber market, “since the volumes of damaged wood are going to be considered in the planned logging in the calendar year 2020”.

In the other regions of Bavaria, only single trees or smaller groups of trees were affected by windthrow.
