Baden-Wuerttemberg reports a damaged wood volume of 6.3 million sm³ (+36% compared to last year), Bavaria 9.8 million sm³ (+53%) and Thuringia 5.3 million sm³ (+64%).

The largest increases in terms of percentage were observed for Brandenburg to almost 7 million sm³ (2018: 400,000 sm³; +570%), Rhineland-Palatinate with 2.6 million sm³ (2018: 1 million sm³; +255%) and North Rhine Westphalia with 14.5 million sm³ (2018: 4.5 million sm³, +69%) according to the ministry of agriculture's response to the inquiry by The Green Party at the beginning of October.

This year's damaged wood figures refer to information provided by the federal states at the end of September. In total, Germany expects a damaged wood volume fof 70 million sm³ for 2019.
