If the current projection is correct, 2019 will have the highest logging figures since 2007. Gross logging of 2019 is estimated to reach 94 bn. sm³. The Swedish forest agency expects 2019 to be another year with a historically high level of harvest volume.

So far, forest owners have registered 6% more areas for final deforestation than in the previous year. According to the Swedish Forest Industries Federation, lumber and pulp production of 2019 will increase compared to 2018. Roundwood and woodchip stocks were 30% higher in the H1 than in the previous year. Pulp imports in the H1 of the current year was higher than during the same period last year, while exports shrank which slightly lowers the harvest projection.
