600,000 sm³ of storm damages in Czech Republic

On Monday, storm "Mortimer" caused a damaged wood volume of 600,000 sm³ in Czech Republic.

A first estimate of 300,000 sm³ of windthrown wood for Czech state forests Lesy ČR was confirmed, according to online platform silvarium.cz. Since in the remaining forests usually double the amount is windthrown, a total damaged wood volume of 600,000 sm³ is suspected.

As timber-online.net reported before, Lesy CR expects a beetle infestation of 9 million sm³ for this year. Furthermore, cyclone "Eberhard" on the 11th of March threw between 1.5 and 2 million sm³ in Czech Republic.
