Profit collapse to one tenth for Lesy ČR

The Czech State Forests (Lesy ČR) had to accept a massive drop in profits in the H1: From last year's CZK 1.77 bn. (€68 million) to now only CZK 169 million (€6.5 million). Sales last CZK 1 bn. (€39 million) to CZK 3.68 bn. (€140 million) in the same period. This is a decline by 22%.

The cutting volume of damaged wood doubled in the H1 to 2.87 million sm³ (+112%) compared to 2018 (1.35 million sm³). The total production volume gained 17% in the H1 amounting to 5.59 million sm³, Silvarium.cz quotes Lesy ČR. Next to reduced roundwood prices, the Czech state forests are also facing increased processing costs.
