Raid at Lesy ČR

On the 25th of April, the Czech police searched the Ministry of Agriculture as well as the headquarters of Czech State Forest Company Lesy ČR. According to the minister of agriculture Miroslav Toman, the raid ordered by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Prague was directed at the clearance of Lesy ČR activities under the general presidency of Daniel Szórád who was replaced last year.

According to Czech forestry platform Silvarium, the police and the Public Prosecutor's Office did not disclose any reasons for the raid. Lesy ČR was cooperative. Amongst other reasons, Szórád was heavily criticized for his mismanagement during the devastating bark beetle calamities in Czech Republic and dismissed in May 2019 by former minister of agriculture Jiří Milek.
