Finnish timber use increased

Consumption climbed to 76.9 million sm³ in 2016

The log wood consumption in Finland amounted to 76.9 million sm³ in the previous year.

This corresponds to an increase of 4% compared to 2015 and a plus of 6% compared to the preceding five-year period, as reported by the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke).

67.4 million sm³ of the total volume went into the woodworking industry and 9.5 million sm³ were used as wood fuel.
