German pellet price keeps falling

In April 2025, 6 t of wood pellets still cost €343.1/t in Germany. This corresponds to a decrease of 7.9%. In May 2024, the pellet price was €280.7/t.

For a commercial quantity (26 t), the German Pellet Institute (DEPI) reports a price of €302.5/t in May and thus a month-on-month decrease of 7.8% (April 2025: €328.2/t). Year on year, the price for 26 t of wood pellets increased by 14.2% (May 2024: €264.8/t).

According to DEPI, there are regional differences in the price of 6 t of wood pellets. In the north and east of the country, buyers pay €325.3/t in May, while 6 t cost €320.5/t in central Germany and €310.7/t in the south. Larger quantities (26 t) are traded at €310.5/t in the northern and eastern Germany, at €305.4/t in central Germany and at €297/t in the south of the country.
