Pellet price down by €34/t month on month

At the start of the second quarter of 2025, German pellet prices for end consumers have fallen sharply compared to March. According to the German Pellets Institute (DEPI), a decrease of 10% was recorded. Year on year, however, the average pellet price increase by 19%.

For the month of April 2025, the DEPI reports an average price of €320.7/t for 6 tonnes of loose ENplus-A1-quality wood pellets. In March, buyers still paid €355.3/t. Compared to April 2024 (€269.9/t), the average pellet price rose by €50.8/t.

A downward price trend can also be observed in the price for commercial quantities of wood pellets. 26 tonnes cost on average €306.8/t in April, i.e. 9% less than in March (€340.9/t).

Regional price differences remain. According to the DEPI, the following prices are charged for a purchase quantity of 6 tonnes:

  • Central Germany: €325.5/t
  • North/East: €325.1/t
  • South: €316.5/t
