According to the German Pellets Institute (DEPI), pellet production totaled more than 3.7 million tonnes in Germany last year. Compared to 2022, output thus grew by 4%. Since 2020 (3.1 million t), pellet production has increased by 20%.
In the fourth quarter of 2023, German manufacturers produced 902,000 tonnes of wood pellets. Compared to the previous quarter, this corresponds to an 8% decrease. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2022, however, production output increased by 4% or 36,000 tonnes.
