Pellet price exceeds €380/t in Germany

According to the online portal heizpellets24.de, the average pellet price across Germany was €381/t on June 6, up by around €41/t or 12% compared to a month ago. At the beginning of the week, prices ranged from €352.2/t in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to €400.8/t in Rhineland-Palatinate. In mid-February, the highest price for wood pellets in Germany, i.e. €446.8/t, had been recorded in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

At the beginning of the week, North Rhine-Westphalia was the second most expensive state, with buyers paying €400.1/t, followed by Baden-Württemberg with a price of €398.23/t. In south-west Germany, the price increase is particularly marked. Around April 20, when prices were at their lowest in Germany, pellets cost €313/t in Baden-Württemberg, which is around €85/t less than at the beginning of June.

Following behind Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, heizpellets24.de recorded the lowest prices in Hamburg, followed by Schleswig-Holstein (€359.6/t) and Brandenburg (€369/t).

Above-average prices and a very narrow price range among the federal states can be found in Saxony (€390.4/t), Bavaria (€389.6/t), Hesse (€389.5/t), Saxony-Anhalt (€388/t) and Lower Saxony (€387.3/t).
